GoS

A few days ago, I read from a forum which I usually read that Google launched GoS (Google Operating System). It still beta but when I saw the screen capture, I wonder what 'the magic' inside. Then, I asked my friend to downloaded it because its capacity more than 500MB but less than 600MB. Enough for just 1 CD.

I forgot to capture its screenshot in my notebook so I taken the picture from its official website. When I installed GoS, its interface just like ubuntu. And when everything had done, I tried to update then I knew that it was ubuntu base .. debian's core .. heuheuehue
just like my Gutsy Gibbon in my other PC but with Mac interface. When I saw its interface for the first time, I felt very pity because a few days before, I tried to configured my ubuntu's interface like Leopard's but until now I still can't find what the misatakes. But with GoS, I don't have to configure anymore .. .hueheuheuee .. .. .

I read from its website that in Mac, it required VMware Fusion. But I've already installed Parallel Desktop, so I tried to install it under parallel. It worked well at the beginning but when I wanted to change its screen resolution became 1440 x 900, it didn't work. The first thought that maybe it didn't support SVGA (in parallel desktop). I wonder to try to install in VMware Fusion. Hope I can tell you later .. ...

Transmission 0.96

Yesterday while I was googling, I found a torrent-client called Transmission. It's a freeware and very light, very simple with its interface, and also it's very easy to configure maximum download or upload rates, at least it doesn't make me so confused anymore. It works on my Mac OS Tiger 10.4.9.

In this freeware, it only have 2 levels of memory reclaim beside the SMP have 3 levels.

GDesk is a freeware that make us possible to create our own theme in SE P990i. This application running in every UIQ3 mobile phone. We can create our phone's theme like iPhone, Vista, etc. What we need is just the icon and applications which are already installed in our phone.

Short review :

Slick is messenger application for mobile devices. It allows you to chat with your friends connected though various online messaging applications. Currently it is still in development, and alpha version is available for free for public testing.

I have SE P990i Mobile phone and I installed a freeware that can chat with multiple messenger. Somehow, I choose LCG Slick than IM+ because it lighter than IM+. LSC Slick make me possible to listen the mp3 while I'm chatting. But it impossible with IM+. Sometimes when I listen to the mp3, IM+ quit itself.
You can get the software here. You can choose the correct version for your mobile phone.

Can't Broadcast Myself

Few months ago, my friend said that there's a way to make blog instead of 'type' it. He said v-blog or video Blog. I found that YouTube could make it but unfortunately I have a connection problem which it can't watch very fast just like we watch some television.
In my hometown (Yogyakarta), I use one provider (with cabble connection) who have a personal connection program that each of customer can access the internet with 5-7KBps each. I must pay IDR 385,000/month. Luckyly, this program included th cabble TV and unlimited access. Well, I taught that it's the best way if I compared with my activities which stay in front of my PC or notebook hourly.

If I want to download 1 episode TV Series, I have to downloaded it for about 9 hours and I usually downloaded it at night when I go to sleep. The same way if I want to watch YouTube. Sometimes I have to wait for 15-20 minutes just to watch 2 or 3 minutes video upload. If I opened someone's BLOG which contains of YouTube's Video, I closed it suddenly because it made slow my connections. I can't upload any file with fast connection because its uplink very sucks. So I've never upload it to any sites except IIX sites. I've never like to upload video on YouTube because sometimes in the middle of proccess, it always broken.

Others people likes to upload their video because they can broadcast theirselfs but not for me because I can't broadcast myself.

A few weeks ago, I downloaded XCODE 2.4.1 from Apple's site. There were some problems when I downloaded that applications. I live in Indonesia and some of the town have low-speed Internet connection. If we want to have high-speed connection, we have to pay a lot. Eventhough I use a cable modem, I just can access with 6KBps in the morning until afternoon and I can access with 10-12KBps at night 'til 7 AM in the next morning. Well I can said that you have to be patient if you want to download some applications from any sites.

When I downloaded XCODE from Apple's site, I found that it couldn't be resume after I pause. And it could stopped itself if the connection (my connection) was too low to download it. I have to download so many times and it always stopped when the connection low. I was very desperated. All I just wanted to have is a high-speed Internet connection. And then suddenly, I remembered that I've a friend who lived, studied, and worked in Canada (Calgary). I asked his kindness to downloaded it which had almost 1GB file size. Then once again, I asked his kindness to re-upload in one of the most popular file sharing's site (because I have its account and so did he).

Fortunately, he's very good friend and he said that he needed 1 or two days to donwload and re-upload it. For me, it easier to download XCODE from that file sharing's site than download from Apple's site. When I asked my friend how long it took to download the XCODW from Canada, he said that just 10-15minutes. Wew really fast ..

I just dont understand. Why Apple's Site don't make some mirror sites to download the applications (such as sourceforge.net) ?

Finally, I've got a new MBP charger

wew after I waited for almost 4 weeks, I've got a new MacBook Pro's charger. It's free because I've bought AppleCare Protection Plan (we can have our 2 years gurantees after the main gurantee). The apple centre in my town said that it was difficult to order any MBP's spare part, or accesories. If there any, there must be a spare part for MacBook. She said that the most user in my town used MacBook. And unfortunately, just a few of us use MacBook Pro. Well an unluckly, my proccessor still Core Duo, not Core 2 Duo, that still have its main problem which is its heat. What can I say. I've to use it because I've spent all my money that I've earned since I was kid.

I also claimed about my battery. Sometimes it wasn't produced energy or in the morning when I woke up and turned on the power, It wouldn't on even I've 10% battery the night before. So, I've to charged the battery before I turned on it. And now the new battery is more powerful than the old one. Thank's to AppleCare Protection Plan and Apple Service Centre ..

Cable's Charger

Well it was the next problem that I had. It's about my MBP charger. I think it wasn't a secret anymore if the voltage in our home is unstable. And guess what .. my cable's charger has burnt. I couldn't re-charging my MBP since a week ago. So it meant that I must back to my PC.

Few months ago I bought APP (Apple Protection Plan) which was we can had our 2 years guarantee for our apple's product. When I asked the apple service centre, she said that I could claim the charger. But it takes 2 weeks to get the new one. I couldn't think at that time because all of my assignment, my paper hadn't recovered yet. But I was lucky in the last battery's power, I could save my term paper in flashdrive.

Now I still waiting for the new one. I 've already call the service centre and she said that It hadn't already arrived. She said that she gave the urgent label for the order. Hope next monday I will have the new one..

SMC Fan Control

I bet that mac user know about SMC Fan Control. It's a kind like a software which is to increase the RPM speed of processor's fan. I usually use this because if I don't use it, my proc temperatures goin' up to 68 until 70 degrees C and of course it makes me uncomfortable to use it or type its keyboard. To solve that problem, recently I always use the SMC Fan Control to reduce the heat. And it's worked .. !!! It can make the temperature stable in 50 degrees C.

yup we can see above .. on the left side it's our prcessor's RPM that we have for recently. On the right side, there're 2 textbox which are we can adjust the RPM by drag left or right. Picture above is the SMC FanControl (version 1, I think). I found that there was SMC FanControl 2. You can see its picture bellow.

I haven't already familiar to use this version. I like to use the first one because it's very simple to understand also to use it.

I always set it up in the 3000rpm. It isn't too fast and not too slow. I used to set it up on 5000rpm but unfortunately after a few days I used it, the fan made some noise. I don''t know but after a few days I didin't use it, it became norma again. Sounds strange I guess .. ...

So after that experience, I always use the fan control on 3000rpm. And heyy .. my MBP isn't hot anymore .. more comfortable for me at least since apple don't solve the Core Duo logicboard's problem .. (or maybe can't solve the problem .. ?) .. well who knows ..

I've got trouble on my audio

Hweee it's been a long time ..

I've a serious activity so I haven't so much time to create a new post here.
Well oke .. my macbook pro has already sent back to Jogja. When I tested it, I felt it wasn't better than before. I don't know why but it seems it was the maximum way to fix my Mac. Of course, it made me sad because I bought this (first) mac with an expensive price (for me). I had to spent my whole life money to bought it. So what can I do again for that ..

Anyway, yesterday, I remembered that I've tried to record my sound (audio). I have a headset and of course there're 2 cables. One cable with the green plug (which is plugged it in the sound port) and the other is the red one (which is plugged it in the audio port). And guess what ? It didn't work !!! I don't know where's the problem. Was it in the headset or in the port .. ? I've tried to look for the information about it but unfortunately there was no information enough to solve my problem.

I tried to sett it in "System Preferences" but it didn't work. I still don't know what the problem ..

Last monday, I brought my mac to Apple's Dealer in Jogja (whic I bought it last year). I'v complained about its display. But 2 weeks before, I've already brought my mac at that place because my logic board has already arrived. Well most of us know that the weakness of the Core Duo MacBook Pro is the heat. It's very disturb me. It could getting hotter and hotter.

My friend who has the same type of mac told me that the heat is the weakness of ours. Even we change the logic board, it doesn't change the heat. And it's true. It doesn't change anything that I complained.

One problem with my mac was its display started to flick. I have this problem since the first time I bought it. I didn't realize it because I thought it usual but suddenly I started to ask the marketing and she said that it's unusual. Then I tried to looking for the information about this and complained that the technician didn't check it carefully when he replaced the logic board. When the other of my friend told me that I must send it to Jakarta, I agree with him. Because it will checked properly with the technician in the center.

The question is how long will it take .. ? I hope not 1 month ..

It's still my problem

it's almost 6 month I use my macbook pro and I dunno why its temperature always disturbed me. I tried to claimmy notebook but unfortunately the Apple's Dealer in my town always said, "There are still a lot of notebook to do. We have benn waiting for the new technician but he will come in Early on January 2007." Well I have been waiting for the technician for almost 2 month since November 2006. So Imust be patience (again) ..

It happen when I worked with my MBP everyday for hours. When the temperature is high, the fan automatically increase its speed. Then I heard a noise from the fan. It sounds like there's a thing inside one of the fan and makes the speed slower than the others.

That was a problem and I still hope that the temperature could decrease than usual .. It isn't comfortable ..

It's very usefull and now my MBP is cold .. Before I use it,I always got the 80 degrees Celcius on my MacBook Pro. It's very hot and if it happened, I usually restart the notebuk and let it for a few minutes... but unfortunately sometimes I found it as same as before I restarted. Then in the forum discussion, there was user post that link. Then I decided to try it. Well It's work .. !!! Now the temperature is about 45 degrees - 50 degrees ..

there's 2 fan inside my notbuk. Both of them could setted with this software. Hmm and I found some intersting fact. Core 1 is more hot than the core 2... ..

Final Cut Pro 5 an my New RAM

A few days ago, my friend lend me a Final Cut Pro 5 (FCP 5) DVD's. I installed it but unfortunately it said that my hardware haven't 512MB in RAM. Well it's make me sad because I need it ASAP (as soon as possible) to recorded sound for my mom. And I thaught that I must upgrade my RAM even I have another opinion that it didin't need it for now.

Then, I decided to post a thread in mailing-list for Mac-User to look some opinion or reference for the type or merk that I must buy if one day I want buy it. Fortunate , there was an user that want to sold his RAM because he had bought another RAM for his MacBook Pro. Yesterday, he replied me and post the answer in mailing-list. And that day, I read it. Maybe yesterday was may lucky day, he replied again it meaned that he online now. So I ask for a good price for me and for him. Then I asked for suggestion to my friend. And surprised, my friend told me to bought it because maybe it was a good chance.

well then, I made some appionment with him and decided to meet him in Gedung Pusat UGM at the North Side. I have never think about it so until now I still don't believe that I have already have 1GB RAM in my MacBook Pro. I thaught that it's once chance in my life. I bought a new RAM with the low price.

And finally, The FCP 5 is officially installed .. !!

After a month I always look for the best way to configure Apache, PHP, and MySQl, I found that MAMP can resolve it. Well it's true .. MAMP or Macintosh, Apache, MySQL, and PHP .. Although I knew from the beginning that MAMP can resolve all my confused, I prefer to look for the problem of MySQl in my mac ..

Now I can work in Mac to do my assignment for BUMD Jogja .. :D

Today with my friend, I went to my college to looked for some schedule for the next term. Then Iwent to my new college (Sanata Dharma). I forgot about the date to pick the schedule for the study. I ask then I must pick it up tomorrow.

Okay, no problem. Then I asked my friend to bought salad at carefour. We went there and bought it. Well, it was make me a little dissapoint. because with the price ant the taste, it's a little bit expensive from Pizza Hut. I like the taste of dressing in pizza hut.

Long Time

Well I want to write everyday about my activity but unfortunately I must do all the assignment with my client in BUMD Jogja. And Now, I have a little time towrite here again although just for a few minute.

In Mac, I can configure PHP, Apache, and MySQL. But I found some difficulties when I tried to integrate the Apache and PHP with the MySQL. It seems there was a problem with the configuration in socket. So it's make me stop to configure it because needs lot of time to looking for the reference from Internet. Then, I decide to work in Wind*ws again when the configuration isn't completed.

Dreamweaver 8 in Mac

Yesterday, with the polution in my face and in my breath, finnaly I found Dreamweaver 8 for Mac. Event I have a plan to downloaded it from www.donwload.com, I thought that I could try to find it in software rental. And unfortunately, there were no application for Mac everywhere. uhueheuheu although I knew it ..

But my friend told me that we could buy it in one of software shop. So I tried to went there and buy it for 20 thousand rupiah and of course it wasn't original. Well .. it was very expensive because the capacity of the sofware for about 54MB .. uheuheuhe well maybe next time I will prefer download it from internet than buy it there ..

Apache in Mac

well .. when I'm confused to search Apache in my mac, I decided to open php's site. And luckily, I found some link that we could download the mac server's software. There were Apache, mySQL, and PHP for MAC. Then I downloded it and with the instalation guide, finally I could configure the apache server in my mac .. but still couldn't configure PHP in my mac because there was one file that I couldn't edit and save the changes from console. It was httpd.conf file. That's the problem ..

Ow .. almoust forgot .. Maybe you can check the server software for mac here.

Still try to find another way ..

The New Mac -- MacBook Pro

Last Tuesday I've bought a new notebook. It's Macbook Pro. Its specifications Intel CoreDuo 2Ghz 2Mb L2 667 Mhz, 512 MB DDR2, LCD 15.4", 80GB 5400 RPM, DVD-/+RW Drive. I've bought it with special price because there was a seminars in here.

It's new for me bacause I have never been work in Mac before. Well I feel it's quite difficult for me but it's alright. I like try something new so I can know if I try it..

there are 2 thing that still make me confused.. and I need it as soon as possible with this 2 thing ..

First, how configure apache+mySQL+PHP in MAC ..?? I have already browse but until now I still can't to find it .. Well .. I just want to proof that with MAC, we can serve our windows client with our product .. And I want to proof that Mac not only just for design project ..

Second, how configure .NET Framework in MAc .. ?? well I knew from GOOGLE, that I could make with "MONO PROJECT" .. but I haven't try it because the important thing for now is the first one ..

I have already try to configure it in console (with BASH), but it still can not make me understand if there is an apache server in my MAC ..

so anybody can help me ..??

My Day

this day i'm not very well in my mood .. yeah I'm very2 in the bad mood condition today .. I'm very tired and very bored with a lot of my assignment this week. So I decide to find something that can make my mood back. Yesterday, I was download some game in gamehouse and all of this day I try to finish all the chapter .. And it's done .. nice games I thought ..

Next Monday, DUta Wacana will start the final exam for this smester. SO this week I still try to make my mood in good condition.

Hope that I can do the exam very well ..

The Journey at S'pore ~part2~

sorry if I post the blog needed a very long time .. cos' I have to do a lot assignment although I have a holiday now .. okey back to the journey

.::Day 2::.

woke up at 6 AM in for me it's very late to had a breakfast in hotel. If we lated to went to restaurant, sometimes the restaurant was very crowd. Then after we had a breakfast, we went to saw the orchard road before left to Changi's Airport.

In CHangi's Airport, there was a lot of shop and the price was quite cheaper than in Indo. hmmmm ... but unfortunately, I don't have enough money to bought something ..

We flighted to Indo by Garuda Indonesia (again) and unfortunately it was a hard rain in Jogjakarta. It was very2 scared because before we landed in Adisucipto's Airport, the aeroplane was not fly very well. Very2 bad rain .. !!!!

And thank's GOD, I could touch my Jogjakarta again after we were in the bad condition.

The Journey at S'pore ~part1~

Last sunday (April, 9th 2006), I was go to S'pore. I called it "The Journey" because it was the first time I went abroad in my life. I taught it was very excited and it was. I went there with my mom 'cause I just accompanied my mom went to exhibition.

.::Day 1::.

Sunday at 6 AM, I woke up and prepare for the last time before I went to Adisucipto's Airport. We went there by Garuda Indonesia Airlines which destination Yogyakarta - Singapore (so we shouldn't transit in Soekarno-Hatta's Airport).

We were arrived about at 10 AM o'clock (s'pore time). In Changi, we must reconformed with Garuda Airlines in CHangi for the flight when we went back to Indonesia again. After that, we went to hotel for check in. We stayed in Phoenix Hotel in Orchard Road.

S'pore is the nice place. It's a small country but it's very clean (although they have a lot skyline's building like in Jakarta). When I went there, there's a lot of people. It looks like people went to S'pore for vacation because in Malaysia there's a week vacation for "Maulud Nabi's Day" (it's national holiday).

okey .. back to me and my mom :) .. after check in, we went to Suntec Exhibition to saw the Dental Exhibition.
Take the ID card and went up to 6th Floor and we were at the exhibition. This event called IDEM (international Dental Meeting and Exhibition). Just like computer exhibition, many manufacture and supplier sold the product here, and showed some new technology material, or kind of the dental chair's unit and the compresor. A big exhibition huh .. we needed a map to reached what we wanted.

then after 5 PM, we went back to hotel to rest for a while then prepare the plan what the next journey. I want to look for an apple centre in orchard. Before I went to S'pore, one of my friend at Jakarta told me the place that I could visit. It was in the Wheelock Place which there was an apple centre. We went there on foot.

Then My mom asked me if I want some ice cream. We bought 2 ice cream. My mom wanted a pepermint choco ice cream and I wanted a mocca ice cream. The price wast 1 dollar for 1 ice cream. hmmm it's 5600 rupiah. And it's quite delicious :)

After from Apple centre, we continued the journey in Talashimaya. There was a bookstore calles Kinokuniya. Then I found a Jabber's Book :) and I bought it. The book is good because I need the information inside its book.

back to the hotel and it was very tired. BUt I'm happy that I could see the other country beside Indonesia.

long time not to say in my bLOG huh ..

well this week I'm very busy .. I'm going to go to S'pore on Sunday April, 9th 2006 to accompany my mom in IDEM Singapore 2006's Exhibition .. just one day .. IDEM is International Dental Exhibition and Meeting .. it's always held every 2years and always in the same place, Singapore .. It's like seminars or workshop for all dentist around the world .. at this years, I'm going to go with my mom .. and of course, it's my first time for me go abroad ..

so tired when I sign up a pasport for the first time .. When my mom and my dad signed up the pasport for the first time, the travel helped them .. but with a little bit expensive price ..

My dad told me that I must read the map and the guide book carefully .. he said that I wouldn't get lost because the information is very complete ..
yeah hope that true ..
